Possible Kezhon Recolor (Opinions please!)
*Had to re-upload this cause my computer is being a piece of shit right now >_< Gonna have to get a new one at some point, though now that I say that I say that it'll work just fine!*
Anyway, I was working on his large reference sheet today and while I was adding a few things, adjusting colors and what not *I decided to change up the color scheme of his ref, been using the same one for several years now* I did some thinking about him.
When I originally designed him ages ago he was essentially a crossover character of two of my favorite mangas at the time. He's pretty much his own boy now and I wanted to adjust him so that he is just that. Lately, I did some evaluating of my own artwork *will write a journal about that* and I'm trying to blend the way I work traditionally and the way I work digitally. And one thing I do when working with copics is use all warm colors for him.
I kind of like the idea of giving him very Autumn themed colors and the warm tones just seem to suit him. He is generally a warm, soft and gentle person (if he trusts you) and I feel like it reflects that, as well as give him more of a sympathetic, vulnerable look (given the nature of his story)
I also feel like, when he's absolutely pissed and more aggressive and hostile, I can really play with some deep reds and make it awesome without it clashing too much!
I feel like the reason I have such a problem when I shade him is that some of his colors clash a bit much.
In all seriousness, please let me know what you think. I'm personally actually quite fond of the new colors, it really didn't take all that long to get used to on my end as it just seemed to fit and match the look I'm going for
