Basically, they're Humans First sympathizers and Kanrod, a Stavoyan, isn't considered human in their eyes, especially considering he's protecting a family of chakats, who they think took their jobs. In short...Snowrose & co. were at the wrong place at the wrong time. :/

A stavoyan?

KanrodStavoyan's creation: they be aliens from the deepest reaches of space...many MANY light years from Federation-controlled space. They've been in space for many a millennium and have formed a sizable intergalactic empire in their time. He knows more than I do, naturally...I'm just giving the general gist. ;3

huh....single human attacker with picket knife. vs 3 adult chakats and one humanoid, 2 combat ready, 2 not. shitty odds for a mugging.

Ahh, yes, zooooooooming out. [because gigantic image] I do 3 other shadows, your statement implies that there are some strong chakat psionics, which...is part of why humanoids going against chakats is usually a terrible idea. not the least of which being they're so kewt!

Weeeeell...Snowrose IS a K3 rated psychokinetic...shi just didn't think to use it here, for a variety of reasons, the main of which is shi was focusing on keeping their cubs (including the third one that might be rather hard to make out at first ;P) safe from harm; as for Shadowthorn, shi's just trying to calm hir baby sister down whilst sorting through some mental scars of hir own...bloody bigoted humans reopening old wounds. :/

I'm guessing the attackers have never seen a chakat get up on hir hind legs and have four sets of claws at the ready (nor have they ever seen a chakat in 'protecting my cub' mode.) Unless they have guns this fight isn't going to go their way ...

when someones waving a knife at you, deal with it by keeping your distance. If they attack directly, use one leg as an axis to turn and dodge, then grab their wrist and neck at the same time, and then hold them down as you pull their wrist. if you can twist their wrist to make them drop knife and kick the knife far away, it'll be even more perfect.

Good to know. Good thing Kanrod's been trained in several forms of martial arts; you don't get to be an Imperial General by doing/learning nothing. ;P
