The way it animates in makes me think that each of those line segments is actually a progress marker for a certain step in the startup process. If the whole logo doesn't come up, someone 700 years from now is going to spend a while on the phone saying things like "I get the I, and the A, and the left outer wing segment in white. The right outer wing segment shows in grey but never goes white... Hold? Well, yeah, but I'm 4000 meters up, and my best glide just barely gets me to the airport, so hurry it up, OK?"
