stereo looks like 70. i've had similar.
scope postioning controlls, i'd guess at 1950s add on.
just as a completely wild guess, upgraded during international geophysical year; 55/56, somewhere along in there.
i seem to remember it lasted a year and a half. and ended not long before sputinik.
