So Farin's dad told him never to tell Farin...and he did anyway. Under the current circumstances, that was not the best move.

Actually, the current circumstances is the only way he'd tell Farin, because he can't explain otherwise why him with a dragon is so "wrong".

I can see that maybe Sekk'ral was banished because he protested the other dragon's brutal regime that was the cause of Kei's death.

Either way, Fai will understand the elder's concern, but the love of his mate will conflict against the truth.

Hmmmm ok I don't know if he is lying anymore since this would be an incredible lie. I guess we have to see why the dragons wanted no survivors.

Of course there has to be more to it than this.

I feel that either some relevant information is being withheld, or Gramps knows there's more, but won't mention it in order to shelter Farin from reality.

Well at least this tragedy will hopefully be offset by us getting to see an adorable baby Farinn next week. Still, even though this seems genuine, I feel something is off.

The elder is still using this as an excuse to tar an entire species with the same brush of one small group.

Well that's kind of suspicious... I mean, is it really such a bad idea to tell people what happened? Why would the dragons even want to keep that a secret, and how would Kei even know that's the reason for killing all of them?

I believe it's less a matter of the dragons wanting to keep their massacre a secret and more a matter of Kei wanting to keep it a secret that Farin was a survivor of this village, since for whatever reason the dragons seemed determined to murder every single person in it.

I can see Farin getting away then confronting Sekk'ral with this story. After that he may find out that it is the truth plus the real reason it happened and, as others here suggest, it was the reason he left the other dragons. The hard tragedy would be if Sekk'ral actually led that attack for possibly even justifiable reasons and that he left because of deep regret at his own actions. We shall see.

for what it's worth—and assuming the two love birds are about equal in age—sekk'ral woulda been quite the young pup to have been leading such a deadly charge, 18 years back

I doubt Sekk'ral led this attack, since he was 9 years old at the time, 27 in the present. And yeah I think Farin would ask this to him and maybe seeing his POV, I think Sekk'ral saw this bloodshed and swore to never follow in those footsteps.
