Some businessfolks actually do have ethics. I'm a businessman myself - I run a small tutoring business and never have I been accused of ripping someone off, even when someone's dissatisfied with my tutoring. (I've refunded a couple of lessons, but they're a couple out of literally hundreds of them). I try to give the customer their money's worth and more.

The artist is also a businesswoman, on a much bigger scale than I, and her customers love her, too.

We're not all bad. I certainly would have dealt fair with the character.
