We got pocket back from the vet. And the prognosis is good. She's stable, and we've got her on a diabetic-friendly dog food and insulin.

She has come back to us with some loss of vision due to the diabetic ketoacidosis, but everything I've read about blind dogs seems to indicate that is likely to be harder on us than on her. She still has partial vision, enough to avoid running into things entirely, so I don't think I'll be investing in any protective head gear just yet.

We are still struggling under a mounting vet bill. At last count, the cost is approximately $1400, with additional visits down the line likely costing anywhere from $60 to $300.

I'm immensely grateful to the few people who have chipped in an astounding sum of money to help with this ordeal. But the truth is, we're not out if the financial woods by a long shot. So I have to ask, if you can spare anything, ANYTHING, please consider donating.
