There's that part in all of us. It's the part that no one really likes to talk about, because we hate it so. It's the part that states such cruel things prior to rationalization, and the part that wishes harm on the people around us. It's in everyone. It's the part that says what it wants and does what it pleases, to our embarrassment. And it scares us.
Feedback is appreciated, though it needs to be said that this is a quickie with the emphasis on "quick."

Great suspense, and I loved the pacing. I think you did a really good job with this. If you want some feedback/criticism, the only thing I can see is the part where you wrote, "He jerkily opened the door..." Jerkily just felt like a clumsy word to me and it didn't seem to fit. But all in all, good work I must say. :)
If I see a man on the ground, the association I get is to kick him. So... not greatness there. Just... ancient survival instinct turned into assholeness.
Anyway, enjoyed reading this very much. I liked the suspense, the beginning caught my attention and the rest make the nice impression I got from this. Very nice little piece, indeed. Not bad at all. Good work.

Well. The psychology of humanity is a funny thing, and it only gets more muddled due to our tendencies to rationalize everything and lie to ourselves. Confusing, to say the least.
I'm not sure I deserve positive comments considering how quickly I banged this out, but thanks very much anyway. :)
