Commission done for
hydrophagist ,big thank you to them!
And boy do they have a cool character, right up my alley. Aside from that that it actually was a somewhat challanging picture. Not really the "Fuck this i want to give up" type of challanging, just again some more finding my way with some of the new steps in my workflow given that this is the first picture with non-natural light that i made with it, and that i still quite like it at the end probably is a good testament to me being on the right path for now.
Also i really gotta keep in mind the colour of the character more during the early sketches...i tend to pretty much empty my brain of everything for the initial ones, so i often just end up with a composition that requires the character to be dark only to have it be a white character to fit in :D Here's my attempt at pushing white as dark as i dared to go.

Guild of the Triad out of my RPG I wrote (1975). Everybody in the Guild gets an optical fiber that can plug into any outlet, as long as you have an outlet. It connects to the cerebral cortex though not the spine as you have this guy doing.
Nice picture, lots of gray whites in contrast to other grays and greens.
I hope to finally get my game on the market this year, I needed to wait until pencil and paper RPG's made a comeback. The bottom fell out of them in 1990 just before I finished the game. So I just played it a lot with friends and shelved it until now. It is like a lot of your artwork, both Sci-Fi and High Fantasy. Maybe someday I can commission you to do the book cover.

May I ask how you do it? Is it a textured brush or is it just a certain brush shape? (or both?) Sometimes I use textured brushes to get a canvas texture but I've not managed to create something quite as "randomly" oriented as you seem to achieve. My guess is it's a harder, irregularly shaped brush with some color dynamics maybe or transfer jitter settings maybe.
