An older piece I finished up over the long weekend.
From my personal IP. Hellions are Infernal Plane denizens that wander the sulfuric, maze-like causeways and wastelands that crisscross that plane. They more or less function as scouts, and they make a lot of flesh-rending noise.

I really enjoy your use of lighting, allowing the warmer hues of the sky behind the hellion to cast shadow and shine on varying areas of the form. The spine skeletal sections are also extremely eye-catching, I’m fascinated by this!

I wish WoW's Ur'zul creatures ( http://wow.zamimg.com/uploads/scree.....mal/638367.jpg ) would look more like this. That would be awesome.
What a beautiful yet unsettling creature this is. It would probably be a horrifying experience to find them around the next corner when wandering through the maze-like causeways you described.
One question though, how big are they supposed to be? From the thumbnail I thought it was a gargantuan monstrosity. But the description of them function as scouts makes me think they might be dog-sized, which still would be very frightening. But now I'm curious about how big they might end up to be.
