How can you be sure he knew what a buck was back then, perhaps the monetary amount simply adapted to modern standard, and considering the main national source of income for...any company essentially tends to be American, of course it'll be in bucks. (Though by my guess, considering Set's response, I suspect it'll be bucks as in deer, not bucks as in cash).
