Actually...they do. Just they're sub-dermal. And they hurt. Only way they're noticeable is if they cause a huge deforming lump. Then comes the procedure of shaving it, opening it, and very carefully cutting it out, then stitches and waiting for ones fur to grow back

That sounds extremely painful. My dog had one on her leg.

Oh if'n you want sometuing Truly Sexy, find an old school barber who will give you a Hot Lather/ Straight Blade shave. It's like some kind of warm secks. I cant describe it, and its a bit expensive but feels good for a lot of days afterwards. Kinda like you trust your life to some one, They spare it, and a Trust is made. For me, its a slightly overweight, seedy old woman who'se barbered Marines and Navy Vets for quite awhile. She maintains a barber shop in a ground floor on Salem Avenue, Really old school place, best kind. These skilled people are slowly disappearing.
