This also reminds me of a childhood memory, unfortunately. Cuz the first Opossum I ever saw in real life I spotted while sitting at a bus stop. It had been hit in the head by a car (likely only clipped because the head was still intact) and was walking in a tight circle in a ditch on a dirt 'island' in the road. It was sad, and I didn't know what was wrong with it at first until my dad told me later.

Thanks! Blood coming from orifices of the body(especially the ears) usually indicate internal damage, which is what I was going for. Its really up to anyone to decide if she's just playing possum or actually roadcake. (;

I thought this was expert traditional, goodness. The hands, feet, and fur are breath-taking, and all the little details you squeezed in there. But I'm floored the most by her face, ear, mouth, eyes. There's just so much detail crammed in without it looking busy at all. And she looks so deeply pained.
