Sometimes Game Freak and Nintendo do things that make no godforsaken sense with their shinies. I figured I'd run through lineages and give my take on how I'd improve shinies, if I had the power to.

Who didn't see that episode of the anime with the pink butterfree? Who WASN'T a little disappointed when their own shiny butterfree turned out to not be anywhere as cute? Yeah... I was, at least. Shinies from this line always kinda disappointed me, if only because of Butterfree. I like to envision a shiny caterpie trying to look poisonous and 'Don't eat me!' while also trying to hide. Metapod's orange just never made sense to me either. As for butterfree? I admit it's an homage to the pink butterfree from the anime with the color choices. But the black wings really make it stand out as a threat for its enemies, rather than blending into its forest home like its pre-evolutions.
