Here's the most recent collaborative work between myself and the fantastic Russell Tuller. I worked on the text of this piece while he did the superb accompanying illustration and typography. I've really enjoyed getting the opportunity to work with him on these projects with him where we really get to explore an idea and present it in a succinct, invoking manner. One of my main goals with these collaborative pieces is to invite the viewer into a glimpse of a world that seems fantastical, but at the same time is grounded enough in reality to evoke emotion and compassion for the characters depicted and written about.

I like to think of them as shards of distant worlds that have fallen off for your viewing.

Working in the transformation genre gives me ample opportunity to explore themes such as self-identity, acceptance and rejection, and the the daily role that established societal norms play in our lives. These themes have huge impacts on how we develop as individuals and the same is true for these characters who navigate their changed lives.
