There's quite a lot of 'borrowing' from pop media that you'll see here and there around central Asia. It ranges from this, an artist's take on the Pixar birds on-a-wire animated short, to full-on ripoff of Disney characters for some local kid's park. However in a resource-poor community, worries of copyright are generally pretty low on the priority radar. Nobody has the money to pay lawyers and licensing fees anyway. However, everyone likes having some beauty and happiness in their life.
