Wonderful picture. I love the highlights and little gags/in-jokes you got going here. Great pose and perspective work too. The foot up in the air like that couldn't have been easy, much less the tail.

And now, now perhaps oddly, out of all this wonderful art, I want to see that map, blown up to improbable size / resolution, and filled in with lands, provinces, cities and towns, rivers, countries, and ocean names. I like the world you've created here, Feretta dear, and good sweet gods do I want to see more information on it. Perhaps a few pictures, semi-on topic, perhaps in the form of classroom bits, filling in blanks, notes, commentary, etc., and building the world.

Oh, very much a huge ol' yes on that one, goodness! I'm insanely interested in their deep past, which seems to have had a lot of technomagical stuff (which, note, I adore!). I'm an old Exalted fan, and I keep drawing parallels between the First Age and the Second Age in this. I sooooo want to read more, find out more about the world, from its' history and peoples to traditions, foods, habits, all of it!
I have a thought that their world is kind of like the one from the anime Haruhi Suzumiya, with Fenavi situated right there in the middle as an unwitting god of reality.
It would mean that she's in a constant state of awakening, but when she does, something terrible happens and she resets everything. But like the one episode of Justice League, the people are real.
So when she resets reality, they slowly come out of whatever fantasy she put them in. But being an altered reality, none of it is an illusion, so they have to reinvent everything from scratch. Except the artifacts, which are somehow preserved like a diary. The people find they have an affinity for some things (because they used to do it in their past lives) which makes progress go very fast after the false memory horizon is passed and they return to present day.
Do you get what I'm trying to say?

Oh, aye, I understand it. I took the time to hit up Feretta's off-site page, which has a significant stash of lore. Some of her comments have left me drooling for more info, but I'm a patient Kitsune, I can wait until she's ready. What IS there is gorgeous and informative both.
