Silver level illustration for Zwerewolf of his characters Marinka (center), Zal (right), and Meganbryar/Rabbitfangs's Emer (left). The normally sassy Zal has decided to take Emer out to the forest clearing for some training when things get unexpectedly heated and the two start to butt heads--literally. Marinka is there to break up the fight as her water spirit watches, extremely amused. At least someone's happy!
This piece has been bogging me down for a while, admittedly. Due to the fact that this is my most ambitious commission since Dance of Plenty and also the fact that nearly everything on my emergency commission list had 2+ characters and full backgrounds this one especially took longer than expected. I definitely would like to extend my thanks to both Megan and Zal for being patient with me on this, I hope the final product was worth the wait!
Enjoy.

Emer is kind of competitive. She gets that from her mother's side, I think.
Oh my, but this is a gorgeous picture and the detail you've put into it is just breathtaking! The forest background is absolutely gorgeous and I love the feeling of being deep in the forest, safely away from anything breakable. Which is the best place for them! The painted targets are nicely done and the weapons scattered about the foreground look great. The characters themselves look fantastic and I love what you've done with young Emer. You've captured her hybrid look perfectly, especially her ears and muzzle. I think that's the best representation of a blend of a fox and rabbit muzzle/nose I've seen yet! Marinka's outfit looks really cute on her, and I love the detail you put into Zal's armor, and the water spirit watching all of them. Cheeky thing. It's no wonder this one took you a while, but it was well worth the wait and thank you so, so much for doing this for us!

When the fight over who gets the last piece of cake at dinner turns ugly.
This is an amazingly gorgeous piece of work! The forest looks so good, and I love all of the little details like the moss growing on the trunks of the trees, the light filtering down through the leaves and the little path running invitingly off into the distance. It really builds a very solid sense of place and lets you imagine a whole world out beyond this one spot. The characters look really good, too. I'm only kinda familiar with Zwerewolf's pair, mostly Zal who looks pretty nifty in that suit of armor he's got on. Megan's little Emer is one of my favorites, though, and she looks incredible! I love her defiant stance and the way she's sticking her tongue out at Zal. She's such a little spitfire sometimes. The lady in the middle has the most perfect can-you-believe-this-nonsense look on her face, and the way she's holding them apart like that is really the perfect little touch for this image. I've been there myself, albeit never when edged weapons were involved! I dunno if the time-out corner will be sufficient for these two ore not!
