Logan is a student of wizardry at the highly-touted Magic Academy... which hasn't actually taught him any magic, even after a year. It's okay. He's fine with that.

Really excellent. Great character development, nice pacing of the plot developments. The only thing that was a bit disappointing was the ending; it seemed like it raised more questions than it answered -- which may have been the intent, of course.
One typo I did notice: "It was too late to say anything now -- at least, not if he wanted his employer to actually (missing word) it".

Happy to hear that you enjoyed it! The ending was supposed to be a twist and somewhat minimalist, but should make sense considering everyone's (especially Logan's) belief systems. I did consider having Logan and Orion explain everything to each other, but I felt it would be repeating what had already been said and done earlier.
