hallo fuzzies!
there's a bit of info that goes with this. TL;DR: i don't have a computer that can reliably handle my art load and the two laptops i have could honestly stop working at any time and i'd be SOL. i'd like that to not happen, as have to eat and pay bills and such. i'm not outright asking for donations, but if anyone finds it in their heart, monies can be sent to my Paypal.me or my Ko-Fi (Ko-Fi buyers get sketches for certain amounts, so i get to give back to those who help <3)
okay. so. the nitty gritty.
i have two laptops, no desktop computer. one laptop is like 7 years old now and not doing too hot. i LOVE it, it's my baby, but it's old. i can't stream on it because it overheats and shuts down on me. it lags to hell when i do just about anything, including just leaving it on too long. its graphics card is going, it's running out of space, and it needs to be on a cooling pad constantly. the other laptop was actually my mom's that she bought two years ago or so, and decided she didn't need it and gave it to me for my birthday a year ago. i appreciate it. it was very nice of her. but it...it's not at all made for doing anything intensive like i need. the processor and graphics cards are crap. it's also Win10, which i hate, but whatever, i can adapt to the world...maybe. literally ALL i use it for is SAI and streaming and, if you been in the past few streams i've had, you've seen that it's not even handling that very well. my streams drop frames and freeze and overload my CPU almost constantly lately. sometimes it just gets upset suddenly and for no reason, and the cursor starts lagging across the screen as i'm trying to draw.
i really need a computer that i can reliably do art on. in the past i've only had laptops because i was in school and was rarely home so i needed to be able to do art on the fly, but my life has changed and i want/need to invest in a good desktop computer. soon. very soon. i've had a few scares with my laptops and i always worry it's going to be the end. and then i'd be screwed because this is how i pay all my bills and buy food and gas and LIVE.
i'm starting this fund/tracker so i can keep track of how much money i have saved for this, and to make/keep you all aware that this is HAPPENING at all, because i realize i have a lot of watchers and most of you don't come to my streams so you don't know the issues. that i might be without a computer at ANY time and it's scary. that i really, really need to get on the ball with this, and that any and all help with it would be much appreciated. i'm hoping this tracker will help motivate me do more art, faster, while i can, so that i can get a new computer faster.

i want to clarify that i'm NOT outright asking for donations for this. that's not what this is for. like i said, it's mostly to motivate me and help me keep track. i'm going to be taking a portion of money from all the commissions and sketch streams i do and set it aside for this, while still making sure i have enough to pay all my bills and buy food. because i need to worry about bills and such first, i don't expect this to happen quickly, unfortunately... v.v

The BREAKDOWN of this tracker:
i haven't decided yet if i'm going to just buy a nice rig (with guidance from smart friends because i don't know anything about computers) or have a friend build me one, but the first goal is for a basic but still awesome computer. the second goal is for super nice stuff. better parts, a second monitor, etc. "desk" is the next goal because...i don't actually have a desk. i have an old drafting table i got from a friend in college when he moved and couldn't take it with him. this one isn't AS necessary as the actual computer, but i would like a nice sturdy desk to put this nice computer on. finally, the "safety" portion all the way at the time is if something weird happens or prices of things skyrocket or whathaveyou. i don't trust things, so i just wanted to include this for padding. i would also use it to buy a nice desk chair because i'm currently using an old diningroom chair from my mom's house >.>
