Warm up sketch I did before working on a commission
I’ve been asked so many times to draw Salvatore and his wife, Maria, before the story takes place. So as a warm up tonight, I decided to do just that. Typically when I draw them they are in their early 50s (as per story time line), while here I’m putting them in their early 20s.
It’s a strange dynamic for Sal, my typically grouchy old man. While Maria as a character is heavily based off of my grandmother for countless reasons, she really is one of my favorites in the story and I can’t wait to really introduce my audience to her. Quite frankly, it takes a very strong woman to put up with Sal.
I think I will reline and color this seriously in the future, as I really liked how it came out.
