This is a reference sheet that was created by Russell Tuller during the early stages of Wolf Boy's development back in 2016 (crazy how time flies). In thinking about her design I liked going with an overall grey palette as I felt it represented her embodiment of being someone who was "between worlds" in needing to navigate her changes from the life she knew to one as she journeys at Starlight's side. Her silvery-cheek mane was designed to resembles the crescents of a moon. Her final form has an anthro appearance similar to Starlight and although she has a bit of trouble running as a regular wolf might while hunting or for other needs, she quickly adjusts to her new body. Although she still has her "breasts", they are quite reduced and pulled more towards her sides as would be found in a typical canine fashion following mammary lines.
Early in her design, I had originally considered for Nylca's wolf form to be similarly colored to that of Starlight, since by whatever forces allowed it he appeared to be the catalyst for her drastic physical change. However, that idea was quickly discarded to have Nylca feel more distinct. I liked the idea of her retaining some of the green of her human eyes even when she is fully changed to further highlight that mix between forms.
At the beginning of Wolf Boy's writing, I had even thought about Nylca's change going "all the way" as it were and leaving her as a feral wolf while Starlight had to then play a reverse role of caring for her in a different way now and meet her needs, but in terms of wanting to build their relationship together and develop moments of meaningful dialogue I ran into hiccups pursuing that concept and it got scrapped. The one remnant of that idea that remains in the story is Starlight's "Wolfspeak" as it was originally intended as the way in which Nylca spoke towards the end of her change in completely turning into a wolf.
With everything else gone from her changes, the one thing Nylca will not leave behind is her backpack which she treasures as her way of keeping at least a part of the human world with her wherever she may go. Its contents may change based on the needs of her and Starlight, but its physical presence at her back is reassuring for Nylca and gives her a great deal of confidence.
Although Nylca has much to learn about her new life on her adventures, she meets each challenge to the best of her abilities. Walking the line between worlds means you can't be fully part of either, but it grants the advantage of seizing the opportunities that both present.
Thank you for choosing to follow this story and I look forward to continuing crafting it so it can grow to the place I want it to be. :)

I've gotten a few questions regarding depicting work from my story, and I am flattered by any fan-created works. Just make sure you link back to the original source (image or story) and get the ok from me before posting. :)
