Note to self, don't draw this many unrelated characters on a sketch page again. Dear lord this hurts my brain but I don't have the energy or knowledge to fix it.

Anyway, drew a bunch of monster ideas I've had floating around in my head for a while now. I've got tons more, but I'm really gonna have to do some practice with colors, because holy shit there was a good reason I only did pencil stuff for like five years.

Concepts for a fox Yokai, a gremlin, a nightmare, and what I call a Midas beast.

As an illusionist and trickster, the sune's mask is normally blank, leaving its intentions and expression unreadable. When it wants to communicate through expressions, it can conjure painted faces on the mask's surface.

Gremlins are known for tampering with machines of all sorts. It's got a long prehensile tail for reaching inside complex machinery. I don't really like how this one turned out, to be honest. Don't care much for the colors I used, blends together too much, and I'm not entirely satisfied with the general design either, so I'll probably redo it at some point.

Nightmares, or mara, are little fey creatures with power over dreams. While their psychological impact can be tremendous, the mara are timid and weak creatures when confronted in the waking world.

Midas beasts are rare and powerful spirits with incredible alchemical abilities. While best known for transmuting lead and other less valuable metals into gold, the Midas beast's capabilities are far more versatile- able to transmute virtually any naturally occurring metal element into any other.

I originally thought these up for a comic themed around witchcraft and familiars. It's still a concept I'd like to produce at some point, but I just don't have the patience, motivation or disposition to do any really long-form stuff just yet.
