If I might remark, your animation has noticeable compression artifacts in the form of green splotches around every yellow edge. I believe this is because the GIF format can only support 256 colours, and if you drew each frame without disabling anti-aliasing on your brush, then that would take up the colour range very quickly and cause the exported GIF to show garbage pixels in colour spaces it cannot support by design.
If you were to use aliased brushes like a hard pencil, or export to an advanced animation format like APNG or WEBM, then this would solve the garbage pixel problem with not much fuss. You could also try indexing your image to, say, 128 colours in GIMP and manually adjust the colours before exporting to GIF.
