Nothing comes to mind. It took me forever to get my first credit. I always wanted to write, but publishers want a track record, so I broke in as an inker. After a couple of years of steady work I got my first actual series writing shot.
Not that it's a guarantee of continued work. I've had material in about 50 issues of various anthro books, but haven't had anything new in print for the last 6 months.
