Is that mark on his face from one of the other rats? Poor guy. I have a friend with 3 and one got an entire chunk taken out of his ear because of a scuffle gone bad.

I get rats soon(waiting for the cage to get here). Rattie pictures make me antsy.

Poor thing. He is a cute little thing. I wouldn't mind having a rat but I don't think my cat would agree with me. I already have to watch him around my gecko.

lol we have 4 cats. the cats are the ones that get hurt if they mess with the rats!

I have always kept my males together. I breed rats and have never had a problem once the new males are introduced into the Mischief. I've had a few squabbles that ended in a a few bloody bites. But in 9 years of owning male rats I have never had one attack like this. But then again the same male that attacked him attacked the female I put him in with to breed and in 5 years of breeding I have never had a male attack a female. I think... he is just a bit nuts.

He is in his own cage and is being adopted out to a different family. He only started getting agressive when he was put in with the female. So I am thinking once away from the girls he will go back to his sweet, shy self. I have had the same problem with a couple other males. And once in their new homes they settled back down. He is another good reason I am getting out of breeding. At least for the time being!
