African Marigolds!
I'm generally not super into the aesthetics of my backyard (to my mother's dismay) as I am into its purpose. I always buy plants that deter mosquitoes and attract bees/butterflies/hummingbirds. Marigolds fit these criteria, and are also really nice to look at. Their leaves also fit the crazy, dense feral look that I like.
