Yeah. I mean, they've even done studies where just questioning people for hours without decent rest can end up with them giving false information in the hopes of just being released temporarily. It's really not a viable way to get information in a lot of regards.
Of course, if you believe the missive you find on him in the Embassy, information wasn't the primary function of his capture. Fucking him up psychologically and twisting him seems to have been the motivation. Torture can certainly do that.
