Once Dee's parents were on board with their 'son' going on vacation with some of the Rabbitfangs family, Molly let go of the spell making people see Dee as a boy and things were much simpler from there on.
Molly talked Kat and Dee into letting her take them to see an old Cajun voodoo lady who lived deep in a Louisiana bayou.
This lady was good at figuring out how spells and curses are working and how they affect people in ways not
obvious to most people. Her method of scrying involved the casting of the bones and she was well known. Her reputation was more for generality than exactness, but she'd helped a goodly number of people understand themselves, so Molly thought she'd be a good place to start.
Off to the Louisiana bayou they went to see Molly's friend, Madame Boudreaux, and after a nice visit and some herb tea, got down to business. The bones were cast......the bones rattled out.....Dee's fate now to be read......
Madame B.: Oh....dis be very odd! You two! You are much much more than you look. More than one in each of you yet they all you. You be very strange girls. The bones, they don't be precise enough to tell the future in detail, but they say surprises coming for you. Both of you.
DON'T TOUCH THAT SKULL, MISS RABBIT, IT DON'T KNOW WHERE YOU BEEN!
You could hurt yourself touching that. Dumb bunny!
Where was I? Oh yeah. Big surprises. Life altering changes have already been worked on Dee here, but they've been changed even more by Molly. Not sure, but I'd guess miss magic-rabbit tryin' to help only got things all mixed up.
*Madame Boudreaux pokes at the bones, rearranging them some and points to them again*
See here? Those bones talkin' to me bout both of you, but like you one! I never see the like.
Dee: But what does that mean, Madame? There's more than one in each of us, yet the two of us like we were one?
Madame B.: I dunno, chile, maybe you two lives joined somehow? Maybe you spirits? Something connects the two of you is all I can read for sure in these. But lookie. You....Kat.....you a werewolf, yes? Loup garou?
Kat: Um, sort of, partly. My daddy is a werewolf and my mom is a vampire rabbit, but you can tell by the way I look that I take after Dad most.
Madame B.: And you....Dee.....you got that mark on your paw after Kat bite you, right? And you change back into girl?
Dee: I'm afraid so. That's the problem.
Madame B.: Oh no chile! That USED to be the problem till miss bunnyfangs here started messin' around. Now you got more, and the bones, they don't say what. Only that you tied to Miss Kat...no more. We gone have to figure out just how another way. Kat? Do you change at the full moon?
Kat: I haven't yet, Madame. Dad says he never changed till he was completely grown, so if I'm like him, I still have a little time before I do.
Madame B.: Okay den. Tomorrow night, she be a full moon. I say we four go out under this full moon and see if anything happens. If nothing, then Dee here try to turn into a boy again. And don't ask me how, girl, you'll feel how if you're the weregirl you appear to be. Den maybe we see something. Maybe something we don't 'spect. Y'all game fer that?
*nods all around*
Good! Den let's get us a good supper.....I got some nutria gumbo I can warm up for us.....and den a comfy night's sleep in my loft. Then tomorrow maybe I show you my bayou while we wait for dark and moonrise when you supernatural kids gonna show your nature, I'm thinkin'.
*Madame Boudreaux picks up the bones, drops them in their little velvet sack and goes to fetch some firewood to heat up dinner while Dee and Kat stare at each other with blank faces and shiver.*

Oh dear, oh dear, things are getting really interesting now, aren't they? I love your story. It builds up such a wonderful feeling of mystery, and hints at so many possibilities without giving anything away. I don't want you to ever, ever doubt your story-telling skills again because this is great! The details scattered here are there are very interesting, especially the idea that Kat doesn't transform at the full moon, and as far as she knows, she won't until she's grown. And the possibility that Dee will be able to shift somehow at the full moon is interesting as well. Though I can't help but wonder if it will really be that easy.
Poor Molly, though. And poor Kat. I don't know who to feel more sympathy for at this point. Kat, and the problems she's facing, or Molly for knowing that she tried to help her friend and only made things worse instead of better. I just want to hug all three of them and tell them that, no matter what happens, they're all still awesome!
I already liked Madam Boudreaux from Salty's post and your story has just made me fall in love with her! I really hope Salty will bring her back again sometime, because she's great!

Yes, as the say in the movies.....the plot thickens! I'm so glad you're enjoying the story and the way I'm writing it!! It means so very much to me coming from you in particular. I do like to leave hints and little tidbits of knowledge here and there. They make it easier for me to decide what comes next a lot of times when I re-read them. I'm kinda flying by the seat of my pants here with the story at this point. I think I know my next picture, but not dead sure. Heck, I just wrote this little story right before posting it. That shows you where I'm at he he he.
Yes, I kind of treated Molly badly in this one. Not only by saying she'd made things worse, but by having Madame Boudreaux pick on her several times through the story. She's strong though, and she'll end up learning from this experience. Like, don't try magic on supernatural people! Go ahead and give them all a hug. If they don't need it badly right now, just wait. Remember.....never say it can't get any worse!!
Madame Boudreaux is cool, isn't she? I told Salty she could have free rein as to what species the voodoo lady would be and how she'd look and this is what she came up with. A character even she liked well enough to keep for herself. I thoroughly approve. She's one spooky cool voodoo lady!
(I already snuck the idea of more Madame Boudreaux pix into a note to Salty. I hope she picks up on it!)

Oh, I totally understand. All of my stories are written by that seat-of-the-pants method, where I more or less make things up as I go along. I'll sometimes get enough inspiration to plan a scene or two out in advance, but never the whole story. It's a tried and true method, and one that's used by a lot of great writers. I have every confidence that, whatever the next scene in this story turns out to be, it'll be awesome, too!
Aw, well I guess you did, but on the other hand it shows that even when she messes up, Molly is mature enough to seek help from others and try to learn from her mistakes. It adds a nice extra facet to her personality and makes her more human, for lack of a better term, and more relatable. She did her best and messed up, and she's trying to fix it, which is more than a lot of people would do. So I think that, all in all, she comes out looking pretty good. Though, you're right that things can always get worse, and sometimes that's just the way it has to be for an interesting story. That's no reason to give up, though!
She's an amazing character, and your treatment of her in the story has just made her even more fun! I'm really excited to think she might show up again!

While it's not foolproof, (see the two projects I had to rework) it I think helps reduce brain strain as I work and helps to take care of most of the questions on the front end so I can work towards my end goal as I write and not give away information too early if need be and such.
Ya'know that's Funny.....When i write, Sometimes i have a Story already thought through, but the problem with that is i find details I've left out or suddenly I'll get distracted or find a reason for it to go in a different direction. Often times i like to write "Off the Cuff" so to speak, and let the Story take Me where it will. I Do so Like this little insite into your Creative Process though! I find it Very interesting!
I sometimes encounter that when I work, if there's a line a character says that brings up something I hadn't considered, but it's rare. Most of the time my plan is quite detailed so it all works in sequence since it drives me nuts if the story doesn't make sense or I can't feel why the characters do what they do.
Hmmm.....that's good to know! I've heard other authors say they write that way too. And that their characters dictate the story to them even sometimes.
I do have tentative plans for the future, in a vague way. The problem is there are so many ways this can go that choosing one can be a little hard from here. it's more or less written itself up to this point, it seems to me, but now I'm having to put more and more thought behind choices. A new experience for me who always before just did stand alone pictures 99.99% of the time.
Molly will benefit from this though. She's always been a very nice girl and done the right thing. Now she's learning that she DOES have limitations. She had never run up against any before. So she'll grow and learn from this and be a better person for it even. :)
I like her a lot too! She'll be in the next Kat and Dee for sure. Beyond that, I can't say.

I think the thing to remember is there's no one true way to write a story. Some people pants it, some people plan it all out, and probably some people do a mix of both. The only thing that counts is what works for you. I know all about suddenly running up against all sorts of choices and trying to decide where to go next. I have no doubt that, wherever this leads, though, that you'll wow us!
All in all, I think this is a good experience for Molly, and a nice way to further develop her character. It's their flaws and mistakes, and what they learn from them, that can really help define a character and Molly seems like just the sort of girl to take every mistake and setback as a learning experience rather than a discouragement.
I'm glad to know she'll turn up at least one more time. She's a really fun character and pretty darn awesome in her own way. I even like her collection of skulls. ( But she'd better watch out if she hopes to add a bunnywolf skull to her collection. However much she might like impressively fanged skulls, I think Deborah would have a thing or two to say about that! )

True! So I understand. It's just what works for you. These comments here are just skeleton stories really, and jump over a lot of things that would be included if I were writing a real novella or some such about it. But I'm having a great deal of fun with them and I doubt I would if I tried to buckle down to serious writing.
Molly is my good girl. She's been a mother's dream. Obedient, smart and a little sneaky. Just like she should be. I'm sure she'll continue making me proud of her.
I don't think voodoo lady is considering adding any skulls of people she knows. At least as long as they behave themselves. I'm sure Deborah would come fight for her lover if Molly needed help. Just like Molly would do for Deborah

Salty always puts in lots of good detail work and sometimes sneaks stuff in too. Did you see the sneaky raccoon?
Madame Boudreaux is cool! I'm glad Salty decided to keep her, and hope she'll do more art of her. Of course she'll be in at least one more of my pictures, but it'd be nice for Salty to do some stand alone art of her too.
I'm glad you're liking the story and my telling of it. And of course Salty's art. I'm so glad to have her doing these!!

Yes, Details are something I'm coming to know Salty for!

Look! He's peeking in the window right........awww......you just missed him. But keep looking. He's bound to stick his head in the window again any second!
And here I thought you were a Bunny hound.
Thanks, Draggy! I could probably do better if I made it longer, but I don't want to get to the TL:DR point. I know some people....me included......don't like to read something that's too long.

Yes, im a Bunny hound also....Draggy likes to Multitask!
True. If a story is too drawn out the the reader Quickly losses interest. But Fortunately for Us, Bunny Knows how to write it Just long enough to keep us on the Edge of our Seats with Anticipation!

No, THIS is your destiny: https://www.silverfernz.com/new-zea.....le-warmers.htm
Puh-lease! Mine is more like this: https://www.dropbox.com/s/xtlpc20vn.....armer.PNG?dl=0
Machine wash only. Colors may vary over periods of weeks. Store in a silver locket. Ignore anything items says to you, clothes can't talk. If irritation, prickling or blood loss occurs, stab item until sensations cease. (Its or yours.)
You've got fingers dontcha? And toys (And they can get cold on a winter's night.) Of course you also have a rodent already to pop 'em in... but I mean c'mon, you have to do it for the puns!

What makes you think that about Dee being thrall to Kat? I've given no indication of any such thing. And Kat would have to work at it to do that anyway. It takes more than a nip. It takes some real serious biting and blood exchange, which she isn't about to do. Doesn't even know how yet either.
Of all the possible next steps they might have taken, I never would have guessed they'd visit the voodoo lady. In retrospect, though, it seems like a pretty good first choice, since who better to know about things like curses and hexes. Not that I suppose it's really fair to apply those labels to this situation, since Kat's nip was an accident and I wouldn't say being turned into a girl is a bad thing. Unwanted, sure, and maybe embarrassing, but not a disaster by any means. Still, werewolf bites are typically treated as a curse, so maybe Madame B will help them get things figured out. Just as soon as she does. At the very least, she seems to have a bit more of a clue than the girls do, which is a start.
The art is amazing and the girls, and Madame B, all look great! I love the bit of business with Molly and the skull. I don't blame her for being curious, particularly when it has bigger fangs than her! But she really should know better than to touch anything in that shack!

No one seemed to see this coming. I'm glad. Unpredictability is good, I think.
Thing is, weres are supernatural, and voodoo deals with the supernatural in lots of ways. That makes Madame B. a good choice to get the ball rolling, if not find a cure for the problem. I don't think curse or hex are the right words, but darned if I know what the right one is for this. No matter if a solution is found or not, I think Dee will adjust and she and Kat will have an excellent relationship.
I love Salty's art! She always throws in little extras and surprises. Like the window crossbars that almost look like they grew there. Maybe they did, come to think of it.
I had fun giving Molly a hard time via Madame B. The skull bit seemed so natural since she was reaching out towards it behind Madame B.'s back. Gotta keep them visitors in line in your voodoo shack!

Ughhh. Voodoo magic. So unorthodox and messy. Not like my white, good clean soul magic. Those witches are trouble, useful though they may be.
Have you thought about getting Lil involved? She might be able to help. I know she's young but she's as grey as they come and has been doing well in school.
