It's been a long first year in the fandom and as it's gone I've experienced a great many thing and my tastes have drastically evolved over time. So with the help of my friend

Updates
The divot in Vel's snout is more exaggerated: The biggest intention I had with Vel was to make it more obvious that his eyes rested over his snout, completely forward-facing, I mostly did this by exaggerating the drop between the bridge of his snout to make it very obvious that he has an actual two part skull (main skull -> snout), and not a single long sloped skull.
Vel's wing and ear fin membranes are drastically different Often an artist would misinterpret what they were in the last sheet because they looked too much like dots or patterns, I eventually got tired of it so I decided to go all out. Vel's wings are now a beautiful shade of the cosmos, tying into his character theme while I'll discuss a bit more below.
Note to Artists, however, if you're not comfortable drawing cosmos in such a complex way I'm not averse to do it as one big dark-grey membrane.
Character info.
Veluren is a species of dragon called Reaper Dragons. Reaper dragons tend to manifest in otherwise normal hatchlings as worlds begin to wither away due to the age of the planet or extinction events among sentient species, or more rarely if an event is happening on a cosmic or spiritual sense that the dead have difficulty passing to the afterlife on their own. A reaper, like their name suggests, is a creature that exists between life and death, often consuming souls both innocent and guilty to increase their power and serve as a food source to them. They don't destroy the souls, but oftentimes keep them in their bodies to give a constant source of sustenance until they deem to let them pass on to the next life.
Veluren, or Vel, is one such reaper dragon. As inherently good at heart, Vel often poaches out bandits in the wilds or criminals in cities, bringing justice to them while also increasing the collection of souls stored in his wings. In his wings they live in a false heaven of his own creation where he patiently helps them to repent so they can pass on in peace and redeemed, while any pure souls he claims he often passes on after draining the mana from them.
A creature of magic more than flesh after his biology slowly transformed with age, Vel is effectively a mana elemental in a dragon-shaped shell. He bleeds mana, digests food into mana, and has a wellspring of magical essence to call upon for mundane tasks or more dangerous ones.
Vel is a dragon of contrasting natures, he's both patient and irritable, jokey but serious, playful but sulky, his moods are prone to drastically swing with no warning or indication except for subtle tells only friends can likely read, and likely shift when he's feeling bored of his current way of acting. When around those he cares for, Vel could be impossibly cuddly and simply want to share warmth, or he could be more devious and try to tease them into more lurid play. The most definable feature of him however is that he's almost always smiling, grinning or smirking, it takes an insult or act of horror beyond words to make him frown. His usual angry response is an almost manic, toothy smile.
His most major passion is his alchemy, potion making in particular strikes him as a way to pride himself on an accomplishment while keeping things in decent control. Many potions exist in his wake, from the more generic healing and mana potions to more exotic ones such as gender and species shifting, often achieved by spiking the potions with some of his own ever-increasing magical essence.
In combat as a feral dragon, Vel is the kind to resort to dragonfire, teeth and claws to fight at first glance, while also sneakily laying trap runes scattering the area, slowly but surely turning it into a minefield only he can maneuver safely in. In his anthro form, Vel often fights with sword and spell, using a rapier combined with his magics to dazzle enemies as he destroys them.
