In which a prospective apprentice who's down on his luck is offered a deal that's too good to refuse...
I'm sure that someone, probably an old crone, is going to give a warning about "all power coming with a price..." But really, imbuing me with arcane power, turning me into a bird and making me into a mage's pet, well that's like, I can count three birds with one stone. Sure it's not all fun and games but come on. Ravens make the best familiars!
Oh, and in case the ending seems a bit abrupt compared to the lead up, there's a sequel in the works for this ;>
Enjoy! And if you liked this story, please fave, comment or if you're feeling extra generous, tip my ko-fi! https://ko-fi.com/U7U4CI6D

You're very welcome!
Yes, post-TF is something that's truly interesting to read: how the transformee gets used to his new body, environment, instincts, etc.
But until the sequel comes out, all of your stories are always fun to read! ;) I'll be interested to see what's next in line when you finish it!

A really awesome story, is the ending a tease for a follow up?
I really liked the description of the transformation, though, I think it would be more appropriate for the teath to form the bear and the nose and Lips to become the cere.
you are doing some really good TF stories, keep it up and maybe do some more birds ^v^

It is indeed! As for the beak, I've always found that it's hard to find a perfect way to do a beak transformation. The beak itself is separate in the beak and some birds (chickens for example) can inherit a mutation that causes them to grow teeth inside their beak. It's their dinosaur heritage! I like to think of the physical beak as just a protrusion from the palate, as you can feel that soft area in a real bird's neck and their beak continues to grow like a fingernail. The lips end up forming the cere and merging with the beak itself. As for the teeth, well, I suppose the realistic way would be to have them simply fall out but I find that kind of gross so I usually gloss over them and have them vanish somewhere. Hey, it's magic so it can happen any way you like :)
Thanks for your kind words as well. As luck would have it I've been commissioned to write some more birds, so that should be coming soon!
