I like the direction you're going with these textures, especially for fur. First this, then MORE PARTICLE EFFECTS! :D
I also think it's a really good idea to practice muscles more. I've been doing as much as I can I think it's really helping me with all sorts of anatomy.

ah thanks mate, I'm actually quite pleased with how the textures came out on him. Especially for the fur. thouhg I'm honestly never been that fond of Particle effects as they just seem to muddy up the drawing.
