Another of the fabulous commissions by the wonderful

One of my most favorite movies just happens to be the 1981 release of Heavy Metal. I saw this animated feature when it was released that summer. I was 10 years old and managed to convince my mother to take me to see the film. It was a double feature with Flesh Gordon. To make it more amusing my grandmother came along as well. Talk about awkward!
Regardless, I had been collecting Heavy Metal Magazine for about a year or two when this movie came out. Don't ask me how I was able to get such a magazine at that age. The thing is is that I was looking forward to seeing this film with great anticipation.
I loved all of the stories in the film, but the story of Taarna the Taarakian was my favorite out of them all. Therefore I commissioned tessy to illustrate my fursona in Taarna's outfit from the movie and riding her avian bird mount. I think she did an amazing job on this image and wish to thank her yet again for a great commission!

Its still one of my favorite movies. I still have the vinyl LP I bought 28 years ago and still have the old VHS tape I used to watch that I recorded from HBO years ago before the movie was finally released on DVD. I even have a copy of the movie on my PSP and I have the CD music soundtrack. lol
Heavy Metal 2000: F.A.K.K. 2 was really not as good as I would have hoped. It was too linear in it's approach in sticking to a single story which cast B movie scream queen Julie Strain in the lead role. The music was something to be desired as it abandoned the classic rock format and went with the more hardcore metal sound. Some of which was quite good, but it lacked depth that the original score gave.
