I recently discovered Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir and am loving it. Its gorgeously animated and a loving tribute to Paris with strong fight scenes, creative villains (The Mime is legitimately as badass as he is ridiculous. Reminded me a lot of a certain Borderlands game...) and some genuinely touching and cute character moments. The corruption theme is really well done and does a fantastic job of fleshing out one-note background characters into sympathetic and rounded characters (even Chloe somehow). Marinette is a great character, and seeing her shift between her adorkably awkward civilian identity to her confident, determined superhero/magical girl persona (especially when they bleed over into each other). I also like that she is a very flawed character, capable of acting just as petty and selfish as some of the people she can't stand, but also learning from these mistakes. I would really like to see an Akumatized (supervillained) Marinette at some point. There's a lot of story potential in the show and I wanted to try my hand at drawing her myself! I am really pround of this one. I've been trying to push myself to try more traditional shading and this one is about 95% traditionally coloured and shaded with only minimal digital touchup! When a fantasy author's work is relentlessly mocked, she is Akumatized into Metamorphine (Hawkmoth is not the best at naming his supervillains), capable of bringing her fantastic creations to life to bring Paris into an actual fantasy realm. When Ladybug arrives at the scene, she is caught by the villain and finds herself transformed into a tiny pixie. Will she be able to break the Akuma's hold and save Paris? Or will the storybook close on Paris's resident superheroine...
