My kindred spirit brother in arms
Also yes! They're something of a byproduct of toxic god-blood soaking into the ground, and I think I remember the slight resemblance to the dagaste was intentional as well. Put two and two together: the dagaste are almost all dead, there's a lot of them in the ground. I think I was going somewhere with that, haha

Oh heck yeah! I was wondering if we would ever get to see more Eptirbatr content, so this is a really awesome surprise! You have so many inspiring worlds, species and designs. I really am constantly inspired by watching you! Learning about your world and lore through these comments and pictures is pretty cool. Reminds me of piecing things together in games like Dark Souls, hah.
Getting to see more of the wiggly, rattly Korve is awesome too! I remember they really caught my eye on your Big Eptirbatr sheet! Reading your above comment about them, and knowing what I already do, only makes them all the more interesting!
I like your slight tweaks to Niara, too. Making her hair shorter, more silvery, giving her that ashen pallor, it does a good job at distancing her from a certain other existing character, heh.
As a matter of fact, I really kind of like the overall pale, ashy skin/fur colours on display. Makes me think that these guys and girls all don't get much good sunlight... fits for people stuck on a floating city-continent place...
Hmm, I kinda like your take on Orcs too. The long yet thinner ears, and the sharper, pointier facial features. A little Elf-ish, a little Goblin-ish, yet still kind of something all to themselves!
And the Jata and Dagaste⦠heh, I am just kind of smiling and laughing slightly to myself. You definitely dig your monkeys and lion folk, eh? No judgement here though, dude! You draw them well, so more power to you!
Heh, by the way... I am kinda joking here, but the hatching shading style of the shadows under these character's necks makes them kind of look like they all have beards! :P
Thanks for sharing as always! I need to get my ass motivated and commenting/writing more, and this definitely was something nice to get the gears going!
Keep up all the awesome work! Between commissions, personal art, June challenge, you must be busy and productive as heck!

Awesome! I'm glad you're digging it. If I started to develop personal projects and share them here some more, I'd say Eptirbatr is probably the one I'm most interested in, next to Cenotaph. We'll see!
I thought it was kind of cool to see everyone drawn out proper, at least so that I can now tweak and modify them some more. Niara doesn't look right without her hat, I don't recognize her. Also jackals, monkeys, and lions are like my holy trinity of the anthro world.
Get going and make something, haha! It's been a very busy but fairly nice couple of days, mostly just filled with drawing and making tweaks to Murderwoods. A welcome change of pace for sure!

Obviously, do the kind of thing YOU wanna do... but know I would definitely be excited to see more Eptirbatr stuff coming from you in the near future!
Good luck, and keep it up dude! Your productivity since you've returned has been really heckin' admirable!
And yeah, I hope to get my writing jive back soon! Got a little disheartened by something lately... but hoping to bounce back over the weekend or something! Thankfully I have a bunch of inspiring artists here, if I can't draw from my own work.

Thanks! I usually fill out a whole page of names and just sort of try them out for every race until I feel happy with them matching the name, haha.
Jata are cool! They're difficult to deal with, their "thing" is that they wisen incredibly with age. They're hyper-violent and impulsive when young, but as they mature they get sage-like. It leads to a lot of awkward confrontations because a jata you may have had to fight for your life with before years later is a totally chill and perfectly pleasant person to be around. It's almost like their life is in two stages, with two different people occupying the same body.

Jata probably live around 40ish, same as everyone else here (aside from the Fixer). I would say it sort of depends on the individual, but a good ballpark estimate would be around their late teens or 20s. I'd say it's unusual to find a younger jata that isn't nearly impossible to deal with; they have super bad blood with humans (and orcs to an extent), who they were extremely hostile against and would have drove them nearly to extinction were it not for orc intervention.
As for the other question, I'll say that the progeny of a human and orc gets you this - http://www.furaffinity.net/view/27591832/ , so feel free to draw your own conclusions! That particular character experienced a lot of hardship because of her mixed heritage, and eventually her anger and resentment over all of that lead to her being one of the "baddest news" inquisitor types.
