Shelly entered the house once again, her claws clicking along as she walked on the lenolium of the kitchen floor. Her daily workout had exhausted her. Between the kids, her own exercise routine and now the rapid need to re-adapt to a Canadian climate after going home to visit her parents in Australia, she was tired out. thirsty, hungry and needing to get off her feet. Still in her anthro form, she opened the fridge and took out a water bottle. One she had gotten on one of the many, many trips her family had been allowed to go on while following her husband's work. Without thinking, she chugged the contents, making a face at the taste. Did the juice she put in it go bad somehow? She shrugged and closed the fridge, setting the bottle to be cleaned out for later by the sink. Right now, she needed to get off her paws and just relax.
her tablet was where it was supposed to be, right next to the wall outlet and she pulled up a novel she was in the process of reading. Her husband came in a while later from a grocery run. Her ears twitched as she read, but knew he could handle it. Besides, the book was getting to a particularly good point so she kept reading. A dull grinding pain began in her feet as she read. she thought she heard something like a question but Shelly had entered the zone. the scene vivid in her mind. There was that sound again. And the same pain in her feet, seeming to crawl up her form. Her legs burning from the workout. The sound again closer this time, and sounding rather concerned. Finally, her tablet was pulled down to reveal Kit's concerned face. Shelly yelped, the sound... a bit off from her usual thylacine yelp.
"Honey... Did you drink the potion i was brewing in this?" he asked with a mix of concern and accusation.
"Potion?"
Kit facepalmed. "Dammit, Shells..." he rubbed his temples. "Well... I hope you like ponies. Well... horses."
"What? I-- Ack!" she yelled as awareness of her body came over her fully now that her distraction was gone. She was no stranger to pain. Shifting forms being a rather painful process, but this was different. Her body grew from lithe to muscular as her form shifted. Her toes fused together into a single hoof. one on each foot. Her thin, skinny tail thinning even more but at the same time the fur along it grew out longer and thicker. Bushier, and fuller. Her hair also shifted slightly, forming into a wild, flowing mane. Her claws were replaced with thick hoof-like nails on each of her fingers. Finally her muzzle reshaped. Her voice altering and morphing as her animalistic voice-box shifted into a horses. As the transformation finished, she let out a harsh whinny as her body settled into it's new shape.
She flopped onto the couch, catching her breath. "W-why?" she asked, rubbing her arms, looking over her new form.
Kit chuckled and sat down next to his wife, rubbing her stomach. "Well, I had the idea to try and see if potion making was a thing. Turns out it was. I was going to let it chill for a little while before going onto the next stage. I thought the bottle i used was different from yours."
"How long is this going to last?" she said, rubbing her muzzle, getting used to the new shape.
"No longer then a week. though... uhh... You might be stuck like this."
"What do you mean stuck?"
"I mean stuck. mode locked. Like you were when you were preggers."
Shelly narrowed her eyes. "Labels exist for a reason. As does the safe upstairs. At least the kids will love it." She chuckled, feeling reinvigorated. She stood up, unbalanced from her hooves, nearly falling over several times before she stated walking. Her hooves making a clip-clop on the hardwood floors as she moved.

nut-case based on a random dice roll for this new form. Form? Variant? Either way.
