Not every wolf was caught up in the immediate disaster. Steward Hemlock was spared, being near the main den at the time, but as reports of missing packmates began to trickle in, it fell to the survivors to scour the flooded lands. Hemlock's duties took him through miles of muddy ground and filthy, displaced water every day until his pelt was perpetually soaked.

It's a miserable business for one who hates to swim. Hemlock's had no luck finding Highvalley's lost wolves, and now he can't seem to stop shivering...
