Slow, calm, yet sinister...here's what comes to my mind: Title Screen/Options Menu, intermission between stages (assuming there's stuff to manage or things to read), or game over screen. How do those sound?

That sounds just about right. Although, Rem Awakening had already taken the role of being the Title Screen theme song, and a very brief but dramatic tune has been made for when you die.

This could be the tune that could play in the configurations or data loading menu.
