Hmm, not sure, I suppose they just remain absorbed/taken over by him indefinitely. They'd still have to eat to stay alive (or, he would, since he's in control), and some/most of their energy would be taken by him.

Yeah. Which is actually quite nice of him, because being a virus, he always needs a host to survive, similar to a symbiote, so it hurts him to let another creature go. But the main difference between him and a normal symbiote is that he can infect more than one creature at the same time, spreading from creature to creature just like any virus. And he can control or transform them all at once, perhaps telepathically. Though perhaps he has a limit on how many he can simultaneously, don't know. But as long as he has at least one creature in his control, he can survive.
