This picture was an uphill battle for me since on my first take of it, the file got corrupted to the point I couldn't do anything to recover it. I did prefer the original picture... but sadly nothing I can do about it.
It is rare that I find something that inspires me enough to want to draw fan art of it other than as an excuse to make something just to sell prints of, but Studio Ghibli's movies is definitely a very big exception. >_<
I hope to draw more Miyazaki inspired things soon.

I've long said that Haku was probably modeled after Falkor from The Neverending Story - the book, NOT the movie version.
Like Haku, he was a Chinese-style lung dragon, white with a wolfish head, with a very enigmatic nature. You never were quite sure which side Falkor was on, though he was loyal enough to Atreyu (who saved him from the web of Ygramul the Many).
Haku's an honorary luckdragon.
