A commissioned piece from the talented Luxarman

Sri Sudarshana is the divine weapon of Lord Vishnu. Represented as a serrated whirling disk (chakra) of great flame: when commanded Sudarshana (“the auspicious vision”) flies into action and turns demons to ash. Depending on the source, Sudarshana is said to have been gifted to Vishnu by Surya (sun god), Agni (fire god), or Shiva (god of universal destruction); explaining his fiery capabilities. Of course those who consider Vishnu the supreme deity say such giftings are merely gestures he accepts on behalf of devotees and that Sudarshana is his eternal possession as an emanation of himself.
As a celestial weapon (Astra), Sudarshana has an Ayudhapurusha: which is to say he possess an anthropomorphic humanoid form which is the subject of this project. Sri Sudarshana is seen a living being that is worshiped in his own right as a deity for protection: particularly against black magic.
Though this certainly applies to imagination's inclination toward witches consorting with demons, it is said that black magic is cast from more places than just bloody altars. That is to say that all actions, to include thoughts and words, disperse karma/energy. You see such in the notions of the jealous Evil Eye and Curse Words that people send out into the world without a second thought. Thus Sudarshana protects and purifies the devotee daily.
Again, a lot of creative liberties. For this piece I've made his skin purple to align with the notion of violet flame. I heard that a big enough asteroid cratering toward earth can burn hot enough to be violet, and if you could see such you are already ash. New Age circles have also taken a notion of using violet flame for spiritual purification.
Of course a big motif is chakrams which dot his body and implements. The chakram in his upper right hand is self explanatory: though I made it of multiple layered rotating rings which Sudarshana is said to manifest as. I gave Sudershana a traditional Indian shield which you may sometimes see deities with to symbolize protection of devotes, this I wanted to be made of multiple chakrams as well. The mace head, also multiple Chakrams for cool whip-like action scenes.
The "Star of David" in his flame is from the Hindu Yantra tradition of sacred symbols. Israelites weren't the only ones to put two triangles together after all. Rounding everything with a flaming kilt and Vaishnavi Talika on the forehead.
Overall we may look at Sudarshana as the living universal antivirus, ceaselessly burning away all evil.
“Om Sudarshanaya Vidmahe
Maha Jawalaya Dhimahe
Tanno Chakra Prachodayate”
