A commissioned piece from the talented Luxarman

In India Cupid is known as Kamadeva and indeed he also carries a bow. Its shaft is made of sugarcane, its arrows of sweetest flowers, and its bowstring is honey-BEES.
He, along with his wife Rati are the overlords of love and sex, the divine match makers. While Kamadeva stirs creation into passion, he can also grant respite from such.
Thus in this piece I wanted him depicted triumphant over who I call Kamasura, IE demoness of lust. But you might also notice the strange creature in the corner. This we can call sense-demon, conglomerate of the sense organs: eyes ears nose etc, and the passionate heart. They enslave mankind to its doom, thus the skull is its home, but now it is vanquished by the arrow of Kamadeva.
Kamadeva is associated with the spring and the its flowery breeze on the wind. Indeed, having been incinerated by the gaze of Lord Shiva, Kamadeva is said to dwell in the wind. So his hair blows. I have added the traditional heart icon as a jewel to his crown for easy association. The mating calls of birds are of course associated with him and his wife Rati often takes the form of a giant parrot which he mounts (I feel the ancients were well aware of the innuendo with that). I've also put a halo over his solar plexus because he is the god procreation and that is important.
