I was bored at work and so I started doodling different eyes, trying to figure out shapes and emotions and all that and this pair just kind of needed a whole face to complete them. I actually like the sketch I did a lot better, but since I was at work I folded it up and put it in my pocket and the pencils got all smudged. Also I don't have a scanner, so I just use my camera to take pictures of everything and then try to Photoshop them into something you can actually look at. Well, photoshop failed me on this one so I just went ahead and digitally inked it. It feels like I lost of of the fine details when I inked it though. He looks too smooth to me. Meh, I dunno, maybe I'll post the sketch too for comparison.

Anyways, I'm here to learn so tell me what you think! I'm actually pretty happy with how the expression came out, especially since I did it straight out of my head without any sort of references or anything. It could use some more details and I should probably re-look at the way his upper lip wrinkles, but overall, I'm satisfied. What else could be improved? Maybe I'll try coloring this someday.
