Trying out some different amounts of Fur Cluster on my little Nick clone.

0% - 30% - 100%

The right one would be a great base for a wet fox.

The one on the left looks best, maybe give him like a tiiiiiiiiiiiny bit more fur just for testing purposes

This is in 3dsMAX, using Hairfarm as a Fur solution and the Redshift plugin for rendering. Redshift uses its own Hair shader though, so all Hairfarm provides is shape.

thanks for the reply , I asked because I thought you used the xgen from maya, hair and fur simulation are really difficult for me sometimes, also really heavy to rendering too.

Redshift is heavily GPU reliant and pretty damn good at it. So maybe if I get some more GPUs the fur is going to render even faster.

for a Butt like that, just below 3 minutes. But thats only 1 segment fur strands so far, and only 1 Milliion of them. :P
But provided my animations aren't made up entirely of closeups I guess thats quite managable.

Looking great! Love the details on the fur.
Curious though, are you going to attach a sheath and sack in the future for some of your animations? Or keep it cartoon flat?

Just thinking it would be interesting to see you do cv in the future, but I understand that it can be awkward with something based off an actual movie character. You also seem to have a larger interest in av. :P

You need 20% less glossy, 20% more translucence in my opinion. It also would be good to increase the random of the hairs length.

I dunno, I used 2010 for the longest time, now I'm mainly using 2014 and barely notice a difference. But I also have 2017 installed because 2014 is causing some problems with lagging my rigg.
I also need 2017 because RealFlow 10 doesn't have an importer for 2014 so I might eventually have to switch over.

While we are at it I should mention that while Redshift is responcible for the fur shading, I did use Hairfarm for the generation. However, I have since decided to switch to Ornatrix since Hairfarm has some issues for me the face mesh deforms.

Dejaré mi punto de vista a lo que veo ahí, dos cosas, el color de rojo a marrón no está siendo de forma gradual, se ve que cambia de golpe de color sin el degradé de colores. Y por último, la cola parece de gato, no de zorro.
