With the previous drawing, the scan came out a little odd, with the shadow to the left.
This guys had a lot of ups and downs for me. I was testing my ability to draw scrunched up characters with a lot of stuff on them, and I wanted to have a character interact with the ground a little more. So I stuffed this poor machine gunner in a hole and saw where it went from there. I feel like a lot of detail was lost with how I positioned him, and the line quality I used, so if I ever had to draw this scene again, I would probably try to see how he would look if I used a less dense style. Although I do like how compact it feels, it's always good to experiment.
This guy was meant to be a heavy machine gunner, who later on in my story end up becoming just straight up pillboxes, but at the time moved the same amount, but lacked in much armor. The gun I feel could be redesigned, but a good amount of his uniform is consistent with how I normally try to design them.
