Inconsistent at the best of time, it's hard to tell if Vel is going to spend the day acting mischievous, cuddly, lazy or neutral. But beneath the dragon who often changes behavior out of boredom is a creature who's easy to love and loves back with every bit of his being.
And, despite the otherwise striking features, Vel makes it very clear he's not a legendary monster with the kind smile he almost always wears, but simply a dragon who while sometimes too shy to respond to basic greetings, travels through life making sure to be as kind as he can to those he opens up to.
What can I really say about this one besides wow? I wanted to get a slightly more realistic and less cheeky headshot of Vel (since his reference, per Shinami's style, is rather cartoony) and lo and behold managed to catch
TheOwlette right as she was opening for more or less the same thing. I can't put into words how gorgeous she made Vel look, while keeping to the changes in his reference. Seriously, go commission her, she's an amazing artist and was such a pleasure to work with.
