Khan'Ning KN-32 Initial Production/ KN-31
(Redone and slightly redesigned Khan'Ning KN-320)
By 1,945 B.C.E. the E'Fo'Nan Imperial Air Force (E.I.A.F.) had lost nearly two-thirds of all experienced pilots and more of it's near irreplaceable KN-19 fighters, and were losing control of the skies. So in a last ditch effort, the E'Fo'Nan Air-Defense Ministry (E.A.D.M.) ordered the Khan'Ning Aircraft Corporation to develop 2 "Immediate Air-Space Defense Fighters". The new fighters had to be able to out run all Ko'Jame fighters, be able to defend the air-space from bombers, out maneuver all fighters of the time, have a flight time of at least 10 minutes, if necessary be replaceable if damaged, and go from design to the air in 100 days. Khan'Ning, knowing how high the stakes were got word to start before the contract was signed but still officially going to happen. The initial silhouette design was finished within 6 hours and the first 5 prototypes were rolled out just 95 days after signing of the contract, beating the North American (NA-73X) P-51 Mustang by a week with 102 days. What the E.A.D.M. and E.I.A.F. was like nothing they ever seen. The plane didn't have a propeller or a internal combustion engine, but instead large pods under the wings. Over the past 5 years Khan'Tik'Lok Ning'Han (the company's founder) had been secretly developing a new type of engine, one without pistons or the need for propellers. One E.A.D.M. officer noted...
*"This new plane was like nothing I have ever dreamed of. A near perfectly smooth skin, and edge extenders (slats). Khan'Tik passed out hearing protection before starting up the engines. They made a deep drone getting higher in pitch and volume before turning into a screeching loud whine. The concrete behind the craft had been scorched by the engines which had reached temperatures so hot that they maxed out the gauges on the aircraft. My only thought was “Is this the plane we want, or the one we desperately need?”

Later models of the KN-32 were able to be modified for the E’Fo’Nan Imperial Naval Air Fleet (E.I.N.A.F.) by adding a tail hook in the back, and folding wings for storage. By 1,912 B.C.E., over 200,000 32's of all variants had been made and delivered and scoring over 132,900 aerial targets downed with a loss of 9,300 for a kill ratio of 14.29:1 making it one of the best fighter aircraft of the war in terms of kill ratio shortly followed by the KN-19. Although the prototype was a marvel of engineering, the pilots of the early models were very disappointed as it lacked large enough control surfaces to be used as a successful dog-fighter. These initial concerns were swept aside as the aircraft was meant to be an interceptor and outrun and not engage the fighter escorts, although met with large amounts of initial success because of all the advantages that it had over enemy fighters they quickly found that the aircraft was vulnerable when turning to make a second run and that the aircraft had less rearward visibility than its KN-19 predecessor, so Ko’Jame pilots would wait farther out from the bombers or stay below them so when they 32’s started their turn they could easily get on the rear of them and get a clean shot. Some squadrons tried to counter this by encircling the bombers before attacking all at once to take out a larger number of bombers so they would need to make less attack runs. These proved fatal as the heavier armed Ko’Jame fighters would turn into them and make head on passes. Finally after much debate, the E.A.D.M. told Khan’Ning to improve or create a new design, after a few months Khan’Ning rolled out he KN-32-II, which featured wider wings, larger control surfaces, a full control elevator, and more powerful engines. The armament got a boost with the addition of an extra pair of 30mm and a pair of 20mm in the nose. The canopy was changed to a bubble design and the main landing gear was widened and angeled to provide a more stable platform. Other modifications were given to improve aerodynamic performance such as a thicker wing chord which was moved farther back to increase the pressure differential over the wing to produce more lift. The 32-II became the definitive variant of the KN-32 and the initial production variant was later re-designated the KN-31 in Early 1943 B.C.E.
