My crude Echolink Node setup I used at MFF 2017. Had really good coverage of most of the Convention space and surrounding hotels. Taping the antenna to the window was a really smart move, as it reduced interference. I'll be setting this up again for MFF2018 (unless someone has a better transmission location).
For those who don't know Echolink allows licensed HAM Radio Operators at a convention to communicate with other Radio operators elsewhere in the world over the Internet. This setup receives transmissions at the convention and "transmits" them to other radio operators over the Internet. When someone on the Internet "transmits" back, my radio activates to transmit their message. As such, it's like they are actually at the convention and able to chat with other HAM Furs.
