Yeah :P she's from a society where prosthetic upgrades are a societal norm, but she lives in an city populated more by immigrants (and her father is an immigrant himself), so there's less body modding - and more natural looking mods - around where she lives. "Creepy sci-fi eyes" are fairly common among those who mod themselves frequently or for attention.

So, for instance, anyone in her city who'd lost a hand might have something like Luke Skywalker's hand from Episodes V and VI, whereas elsewhere in the society, it's more likely to resemble Anakin's hand or Luke's hand from Episodes VII and VIII?

Actually those would both be fairly standard, being either a less obvious replacement or a baseline visible prosthetic, prioritizing functionality over fashion. More intense modifications would include a more armor-like appearance, prominent coloration, painting or acid etching depending on the casing material, LEDs - they'd basically go as dramatic as they could, while "does it work and does it look like a hand" is pretty much all that her folk generally care about.

She actually does get her hand replaced, and she chooses a marionette-like design, very rounded with prominent joints.

One of hubby's characters is more extreme, and had all four limbs replaced with heavy, imposing prosthetics.
