I was going through some photos and revisited the harrowing saga of creating this piece. With a little retouching I got this to pass as a good picture of it finished.
The drawback of preferring to pursue big clever ideas is a tendency to make the learning of new skills a trial by fire, instead of practicing on something simple and disposable like "look, a fox." For two years of mishaps and missteps, I tried to stop this thing falling apart, and it finally was held together with no less than three kinds of clay, three kinds of glue, several layers of acrylic paint, and hope. It was sold at AC 2007 and broke again when the buyers took it home, bringing the glue count up to four.
